2010???? HERE WE GO!!!!
Well everyone, we have put 2009 to bed and just awoke the new begging of 2010. I know for
a lot of us that we are hoping and planning on this year being the start of something new,
because the last year and half has been pretty tough in our industry. We have seen a lot of
our family and friends get out, or let go from being Realtors. Lenders, title people,
inspectors, appraisers, and others. I myself have even seen  some that I have known, move
from the area to find work, but we have to remember that family comes first and sometimes
you have to make tough decisions to do what is best for your them, and sometimes that
means packing up those you love and moving them away from everything they know and all
of the people them and you know to make a fresh start and improve the life of our children or
ourselves. I commend and thank all that have tighten your belts, put in more hours and did
whatever you had to, to make it through 2009 and are still here. I believe things are going to
improve in 2010, but realistically I also believe that we are going to be dealing with the REO’
s, short sales and foreclosure market for a few years to come, and we can either figure out
how to make a living in it, or fight it and complain about it every step of the way, and
probably not make much of a living or end up following those that have had to find another
way of making a living. Real estate is an ever changing market, and if you don’t change, you
will get pushed out. That is one reason Women’s Council of Realtors is so important to your
career, it gives you up to the minute information on the current market and tries to stay
ahead of the curve so it’s members can continue to thrive.
As your 2010 President I want you to know that I will be willing to help anyone that needs it if
they just ask. If my phone is on you will not be bothering me. If it’s not, please leave a
message and I will get back to you as soon as I can or you can also email me. If I don’t have
the answer to your question, I will help you to find it, or help get you pointed towards some
education that can help you to survive.
I have a great leadership team that is very excited to help as well, so please use us, that’s
one of the things we are here for. I have a great committee that has already lined up all of
our speakers and topics for the entire year, plus have some committees that are starting to
get off the ground that have some great fun things planned for the year. If you want to be a
part, and I hope you at least get involved with one committee, please contact any of your
board members to sign up. Some of the things on the drawing board are the Martini Affair,
Trade Fair and the State WCR Golf Tournament in Jack Pot in June. We also have some
other things we are kicking around and are always open to suggestions. We need to bring
back some education as well as comrade, so we can build this chapter back to what it was,
and even better. There is a reason that WCR members average $117,900 compared to
agents that are not who average $47,700.
Get involved, be involved and participate!!!!!
