Hello Everyone:
Julie, Arcelia and I had a great time at the Idaho State
Convention. Tom Turner and his wife, Pete, were there
along with the WCR State Board. The installation of the
WCR 2008 Idaho State Board was done by Judy Moses, the
National President of the Women's Council of REALTORS.
She came all the way from Boston for our State
Convention. We all had a chance to get to know her. I am
still in awe of the contacts we make by being a part of
Women's Council. Did I mention that Julie, Arcelia, Tom,
Pete, Cindy Oldenkamp and myself got to spend about 20
minutes with Governor Otter? We were just standing around
talking when he walked by and joined us. We were standing
on the top deck of a boat, as we cruised around the lake
in Coeur d'Alene, chatting with the Governor! Now what
other organization gives you opportunities like that?
I got the information regarding the orientation of our
2008 line officers from our State President-Elect, Nikki
Boyd. It will be on Friday, November 9th, at 9:00am. It
will be held at Pioneer Title on Rifleman in Boise. It is
very, very, very important that we all attend this
orientation. (Did I mention that it's very important?)
:> Nikki also talked about possibly getting together the
night before for dinner or something like that. For those
of you who haven't met her, she is a great person. Nikki
is the successful broker of her own company in Twin Falls,
a highly organized individual who happens to be a lot of
fun to be around. She plans to be a hands-on State
President next year. We are blessed to have her.
Tom Turner has offered his home for our board retreat.
Rather than going away for a couple of days, we thought
it best to make it for a Saturday, here in town. That way
we don't have to leave our families, again. We will go
over the Policy and Procedures Manual, set our budget for
next year, come up with our monthly topics for next year,
go over the assigned responsibilities of each position and
get to know one another better. I know that is a lot to
do in one day - but we can do it!
We should have the retreat before the November 2nd
installation of the 2008 officers. So, that leaves us
sometime in October. Is there a Saturday in October that
will not work for you? Please let me know so we can
narrow down the date.
