IDAHO STATE OFFICERS

We just wrapped up our 2009 National Membership Drive and welcome to all of our new and
renewing Idaho members.  I know many of our Local Chapters have their own membership
incentives that last through the year, so keep up the good work.  If
“everyone brought one” to
your monthly meetings, imagine how fast your Chapters would grow!
Idaho State
Chapter News
First I have to congratulate each of our five Local Chapters -- we just received word that they all achieved the
Gold Level Chapter Excellence Award for their achievements in 2008. That was accomplished because of
awesome leadership and membership!  IDAHO ROCKS!!

Wow, it’s hard to believe that we have already finished the first quarter of this year, and what an interesting time we are having in real
estate, do you agree?  I know the various areas across the State of Idaho are experiencing somewhat different markets, but overall we
have all felt the same economic pinch being felt by not only our country, but the world.  Aren’t you thankful you are part of an organization
that has prepared us to be the best in our industry and survive the more difficult times.  Our Chapters are still strong and working hard to
provide valuable education and tools to its members.  Have you given any thought to attending the Mid-Year Conference in Washington
DC from May 14th through the 17th? This really is a great opportunity to get good education and build your referral base by meeting
Realtors from all over the country.  I think Mid-Year is the Conference that gives you the best insight into the workings of WCR, with great
leadership classes, brainstorming sessions, and of course the leadership planning meetings. I would encourage you to consider attending
this conference.

The benefits of WCR Membership begin to accumulate when you get involved!

If you decide to participate, even if only in a small way — we will help you define and reach your next level of achievement.
If you attend chapter meetings — we will help you acquire new skills to meet the changing business environment.
If you make it a point to sit with people you don’t already know we will increase your referral business and sometimes become friends for life.
If you commit to attending at least one state meeting or regional conference — we will show you role models who inspire and mentor.
If you volunteer for something — we will give you meaningful, satisfying work that fits your schedule.
If you keep in touch with other members — we will encourage you when you are down and cheer you on when you succeed.
If you commit to attending one national meeting — we will amaze you with the power of the total WCR experience.

Tonya Adank our chapter secretary and I had the privilege of attend the “Leadership Skills Workshop” and “Marketing to Women” Summit
in Chicago on March 20 – 22, 2009.  This was a fabulous learning and networking event!  The Leadership Skills Workshop began with a
welcome from Becky Hill, 2009 WCR National President.  There were four sessions: Preparing to Lead, Meeting & Team Management,
Speaking & Presenting Skills and Positioning Yourself for Success.  Our own Julie DeLorenzo was a meeting facilitator.

We learned about our own style, behavioral patterns, and email communication.  We also learned about time management, people and
meeting issues, business planning and speaking skills.  Famous American Aviator Pilot Amelia Earhart once said, “The most difficult thing
is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.  The fears are paper tigers…YOU can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change
and control your life and the procedure, the process is its own reward.”

There were a lot of discussions about Social Networking.  Recommendations were Active Rain, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  One of the
attendees told us about a site called ping.fm where you can enter your “what are you doing” message one time and it will put that message
into all your other social networking sites.  Another exciting video option is eyejot.com; where you can send video mail:   http://www.eyejot.
com/experience.html.
